Our 16th Century Inn is the oldest Inn in Hertfordshire and is famous for its warm welcome and delicious home-made food. Steeped in history, the Hand & Crown was once popular with King Henry VIII and his then wife, Anne Boleyn and today it is still the perfect country retreat for drinking, dining and relaxing.
Nestled in the beautiful Hertfordshire village of High Wych in Sawbridgeworth it is close to the border of Essex.
Our main restaurant at The Hand and Crown offers a charming bar and dining area where guests can enjoy our delicious home cooked food, wide section of wines and traditional ale. All our ingredients are delivered fresh every day and cooked to order every time.
